- Notice No.
Mariners are advised that recent heavy rains have caused debris to be washed into rivers and estuaries around the State. This debris, often partly submerged logs, presents a navigation hazard to vessels.
Mariners are also advised that due to the heavy rainfall and run off from rivers into coastal waters, barways and river mouth entries may change substantially due to moving sand around the Tasmanian Coast, particularly the East Coast and North Coast.
Mariners are urged to take extreme caution whilst navigating seaward from rivers across barways and in estuarine waters whilst these conditions exist.
Mariners should at all times acquaint themselves with forecast weather by going to Bureau of Meteorology – Meteye – http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/meteye/
