MAST EPIRB HIRE


There has been a significant increase in the number of people travelling offshore in boats of all sizes. (see graph below,from the last MAST boating survey: 2007).

MAST does not encourage small boat operators to travel too far offshore, especially to areas such as Pedra Branca, but if you are boating well offshore then it is vital that you ensure you have all the necessary additional safety gear to operate outside sheltered waters, such as a radio, an EPIRB, and parachute rocket flares.

If you only venture outside sheltered waters occasionally, perhaps for an extended cruise or a day’s tuna fishing, then hiring an EPIRB may be a better option than buying one. 406 MHz EPIRBs can be hired from MAST for a day, a weekend, a week or even longer.
